Who We Are

The Philanthropic Organization for Welfare, Empowerment and Research is non for profit organization owned by well-qualified and dedicated Afghans working on health, education agriculture and research aiming at achieving sustainable economic and social development in Afghanistan. The employees have multi years of experience and were involved in the management and implementation of BPHS, EPHS, WASH, and Reproductive Health projects in Afghanistan. Also research department staffs of POWER have more experience in the implementation, Monitoring & Evaluation and analysis of survey / research projects data, especially Health and other field. The POWER operates within four main divisions:
* Access to Basic and Essential Health services and strengthening the health system
* Economic & social development of Agriculture system
* Developing the education system to empower the community
* Research, Monitoring and Evaluation

The government of Afghanistan and the international community has made a series of commitments in the Transition and Transformation phase of Afghanistan to strengthen the health system, access to basic and essential health services, human development, and economic growth. In the cusp of Transition, there is a desperate need to support the people of Afghanistan together with the government in order to maintain the momentum gained in the last one decade in a way that build their confidence over the stability and development in Afghanistan. There are challenges across every sector and these challenges in Afghanistan acquire the most up-to date knowledge together with the Afghan led initiatives in various management functions as well as ceasing and utilizing the existing opportunities in order to maximize the efforts aiming at achieving the goals of a sustainable Afghan led growth. 

Presently working toward continuous improvement, and stretching our potential, POWER serves to satisfy national and international donor’s specific requirements and cater to address them in most effective and efficient manner. Our purpose is to improve and work, now and for future generation to come and inspire everything we do in Afghanistan through our creative approach. Our strategic choices are guided by this motive, which leads us to better innovation, brilliant execution, and compels us to make a difference in this war torn nation. Work for the good welfare of the people of Afghanistan is the sole principle behind the establishing, running, and promoting of our NGO. We firmly believe that by providing our services will improve people’s lives with less environmental impacts and operating responsibility and ethically in every aspect of our business and operation make our NGO a better place. In other words, we are forced for good since we integrate a responsibility for improving lives in our business through trust worth of professionalism, and perseverance. Through our consulting services we explore extraordinary opportunities, manage, and sustain growth and maximize satisfactory implementation of grants to our donors. Our relationships with donors are based on mutual trust, knowledge and qualification, reliability, integrity and confidentiality. We believe that our donor’s success is our success. We demonstrate high ethical standards in every aspect of our work. We have maintained highest standards of work, ethical competency and integrity, and we conduct every assignment in a manner consistent with respective organization policies and standards.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT:
While working in Afghanistan’s is not an easy work, we help in providing services that have positive impacts on lives of the people. POWER works in Afghanistan based on the ground realities-to identify risks and limits its impact on the people and the environment. We support and provide answer to ground realities, challenges- in critical areas of exposure.
